Another prominent name in the world of sports has caught the coronavirus pandemic. In a statement by the Brooklyn Nets, four of their players tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. Without disclosing the names, the team clarified that three were asymptomatic while one was exhibiting symptoms. Star player Kevin Durant, however, revealed that he is one of the four players, according to Shams Charania of Stadium and The Athletic. "Everyone be careful, take care of yourself and quarantine," Durant said.

NBA officially suspended its regular season last week after Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19. His teammate Donovan Mitchell also tested positive as well, along with Detroit Pistons forward Christian Wood. Kevin Durant has been inactive all season long since he's recovering from the ruptured Achilles tendon he suffered in the NBA Finals in June last year.

Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) Commissioner Manuelito Luna warned Leni Robredo as Vice-President of the Philippines that it is possible to impeach her when she allegedly motivated the minority of the congressional motion to file an impeachment case against President Rodrigo Duterte.

“[Vice President Leni] Robredo may get herself impeached for urging the minority in the house of representative to press impeachment rap against the President respecting the latter’s statement on the ‘little maritime incident’ in the Reed Bank,” according to Luna. 

Robredo said in her radio program  before that the congressional minority should not lose the courage to file an impeachment case against President Duterte even though many members in the senate are in the side of the President.
“Ito ang nakakalungkot kasi kahit sana political act, iyong panakot dapat sa mga impeachable officials na kapag nag-violate, ang essence ng pinaka-violation at saka iyong essence ng Saligang Batas ang magpe-prevail,” said Robredo.

“Pero alam natin sa experience hindi iyon ganoon. Sa experience na lang… parang mas nagpe-prevail ang pulitika kaysa sa iba pang mga consideration… Pero tingin ko hindi naman iyon dahilan para… Kahit minority kayo, ipaglaban ang tama pa din. Kahit napaka-kaunti ng numero, ang pinakamahalaga doon, hindi ka napapagod ipaglaban ang tama,” added Leni.

In a Facebook post in the Luminous, a Facebook page lead by lawyers Trixie Cruz-Angeles and Ahmed Paglinawan, it was revealed that a government witness, Roberto Catapang Jr., has claimed that Eldon Cruz, Rogelio Singson and Florencio “Butch” Abad colluded and participated in the controversial right of way scam in General Santos City that allegedly defrauded the government of 8.7 Billion pesos worth of Revenue. 

All of the respondents of the said claim are either relatives or former cabinet members of former President Benigno Simeon Aquino III. Specifically, Eldon Cruz, being the husband of Ballsy Aquino, is a brother in law of Noynoy; Butch Abad and Rogelio Singson are the former secretary of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) respectively.

The almost 9 Billion pesos scam involves the use forged land titles to make false land claims in order for the government to utilized these allegedly illegally claimed land for road expansions.

Accoring to the said Facebook post, the witness produced a letter that allegedly were written by Eldon Cruz to the former secretary Butch Abad to endorse payments.

“A government witness, Roberto Catapang Jr, now admitted to the witness protection program, has implicated Eldon Cruz, Ballsy Aquino's husband, Rogelio Singson and Butch Abad in the road right of way scam that defrauded the government of an estimated P8.7 billion pesos.

The scam involves the use of fake titles to make fraudulent claims from the government for the use of these lots in road expansions.

The witness produced a letter purportedly from Eldon Cruz to the DBM, endorsing the release of payments.

And the walls are closing in for the Aquino kapamilya, kaklase, kabarilan, and pretty soon, ka-kosa sa kulungan.”
